Connections
I'm crafting this newsletter the morning of July 4th, a typically quiet day for anyone, but not when you're in production! I awoke to emails about a current project I'm producing that goes into production (meaning we start shooting) in just two weeks. Emails are buzzing about locations, hired talent, craft services (my personal favorite, because I love food), wardrobe, props, and most importantly, the shoot schedule - who needs to be where and when. No one wants to show up in the wrong room wondering where the camera and the rest of the crew is. I love producing and I love expanding my producer wings with new teams and partnerships that bring video production to Boise, Idaho. Pre-production is my jam along with sharing our beautiful town and the people who live here both with those from out of town and those who reside here. Which is why I will continue to support the organizations who promote change and provide opportunities to connect with others over issues that affect us all.
The above video is just that - an opportunity to listen and expand our network of people and community. United Vision of Idaho has been working with OMG since the fall of 2023. Just a couple months ago, we brought together an incredible team of local talent to create It's Gonna Be OK Corral, a 4-part series that promotes UVI's efforts in our community and our country. Click the above video to watch our first episode! I am so proud of our team and what we were able to create together. On July 24th, UVI is presenting a free, live online training course on How to Have Authentic Relational Conversations. I encourage you to learn more, maybe sign up for the training, and deepen your knowledge and skills through communication. (My masters degree is in communication, imagine that!)
Meet our Summer Intern!
Hello! My name is Bobby, and I'm thrilled to be part of the team and to work alongside Stephanie. I'm currently a student at the University of Idaho studying pre-physical therapy and a member of the Theta Chi fraternity. Outside of school and work, I love hiking, paddleboarding, and spending time outdoors, as well as hanging out with my friends and family. And my favorite movie is Winnie the Pooh!
I have known Bobby since he was a kid - he was a lot shorter back then - and I am so excited to have him join OMG for the summer. He's already working hard on some research projects that will provide insight on what others in our business are doing and how AI can be utilized as a tool. We can't shy away from change, instead we should embrace it and incorporate it when and where possible. From his research we move to action and Bobby is working on some suggestions for a redesign for our studio website, so stay tuned. Everything he's presented to me has already made an impact and while I may be slow to roll out that impact, it is coming!
And if you want to see Bobby's onscreen debut, check out this short film we made together back in May of 2017. It was one of the many projects I had to create during my bachelors program and he, his brothers, and his mom were kind enough to help me create this masterpiece.
We Welcome Kristóf from Educating Media!
Relationships that are cultivated form lasting connections and collaborations. Kristóf and I met about 10-years ago. We both worked for HP creating video content and stayed in touch even after I left in 2022. This past spring, I contacted him about a pilot project I was bidding on that needed his specific skills and expertise. In less than 24-hours, he had crafted three different options that we could present to the client. Each option showed his unique skills while paying close attention to their bid request. They hired us and we officially completed the project on July 1st, which I'll share it as soon as it's publicly available. Although that particular project is now complete, I am proud to say that this relationship will continue to grow as we work together to create impactful content for our clients. The Studio, Episode 1
It's finally here! More like, I finally took the 10-seconds it takes to upload this video to YouTube to share with the world. Back in 2023, I gathered a bunch of film friends and asked them if they wanted to make a short film with me about my studio and what goes on behind-the-scenes. Everyone was happy to participate and we spent a Saturday shooting video and eating pizza. It was great. While it only took me a couple days to edit, it took two-years to finally sit down to edit this thing. Between grad school, opening a physical studio space, running a production studio, and moving that studio, it took a while to find time to work on a personal project. People always ask me - what personal project are you working on now, Steph? My answer - my business. This: what you see here in this newsletter; cleaning the bathroom at my studio, creating content for my clients, and expanding my network. There's not much time for personal projects (I recognize that I need to adjust that), but when I do create for me, the results are hilarious, if I do say so myself.

OMG Studios opens its doors to artists of all disciplines for a day of creativity, collaboration, and connection.
Bring an unfinished project, explore new ideas, and get inspired by the energy of fellow creatives. This is a space to work alongside like-minded artists, build community, and fuel your creative process.
